Fish whisperer and aspiring sushi chef Keith and MooMoo, a man who likes to chum the water before he hooks a big one, held a show & tell event at Half Moon Bay Kayak Co. The idea was to fish for salmon in the morning, and to present effective salmon catching techniques for kayak fisherman by midday and to follow up with sushi, BBQ and beer.

Unfortunately, the fishing part of the event was a blowout. However, MoMo and Keith put on a great show and soon we were feasting on Keith's sushi rolls while reminiscing about all the amazing fish we caught this year. Due to the blowout only the hardest and toughest showed up: Keith and MoMo, also Bradley aka Scurvy was there, John aka JohnnyAb who I knew from Pigeon Point, and fishbushing Jason, of course, as well as my unrelenting family and other enthusiastic folks who I don't know by name.

While we were standing there in front of the kayak shop, shore fishermen were flossing salmon right from the shallow end of the harbor. They caught more fish than we would have brought home on a good day. The irony was not lost on me.

On the other side of the road a bike racing event was held, the Jensie 2019. Mastermind behind the event: Jens Voigt, cycling star and two times Tour de France stage winner from Germany.

We finished the day with a good cup around a table at Peet's Coffee.
